In December, the Dmitry Krymov Laboratory will launch a joint project with GITIS, the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts – a production of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." Students from GITIS will perform in the production. "Romeo and Juliet. Kindersurprise" will be the second joint project between GITIS and the School of Dramatic Art. Their previous collaborative experience gave the theatre two Golden Masks for "O-i. Late Love." The production features students from the E. Kamenkovich - D. Krymov course.
Dmitry Krymov: “Just like with ‘Late Love,’ it will be their thesis play and, I hope, our repertory show. ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is, of course, not ‘Romeo and Juliet’ – I wrote it myself.”
Premiere performances: 27-29 December 2017.
