The Dmitry Krymov Laboratory will play several shows and host several events as part of the Golden Mask tour in Estonia and Latvia:
17 October, 13:30: Special Laboratory performance as part of “Golden Mask in the City”: Viru Commercial Centre (Viru Keskus), Viru Väljak, 4.
17-18 October, 19:00: “O-i. Late love.” at the Vaba Lava Theatre
18 October, 21:20: Talkback with Dmitry Krymov at Vaba Lava Theatre.
“This is Krymov, and there doesn’t seem to be anybody else like him in Russian theatre. What’s more – there never was anyone like him before! Krymov is above all else an artist, and for him the visual form of the show is important, yet he preserves the traditions of the Russian psychological theatre… One critic wrote about this show: ‘the text is the same, all Ostrovsky, but there’s a sense that all the letters have broken out into some kind of dance.’ It’s a very funny show, very ironic, and downright dashing!”
Svetlana Yanchek, director of the Golden Mask Festival in Estonia
21-22 October, 20:00: “O-i. Late Love.” at the Kipsala International Expo Centre.
22 October, 11:00: Special programme: master class with Dmitry Krymov with the students of the Theatre Academy of the Latvian Culture Academy, Zirgu pasts.
23 October, 20:00: “Sir Vantes. Donkey Hot.” at the Kipsala International Expo Centre.
“Amazing! I will tell everyone, absolutely everyone, that on this day all the theatres in Latvia and all their actors should not go to work, nobody ought to act in their own theatres, and instead everyone should see these shows, how other actors are and can be, and what enjoyment they, in my opinion, get from their existence and bring this to the audience.
Herbert Laukshtein, member of the Liepajas Theatre’s board of directors.
“O-i. Late love.” Participant in the 2015 Russian Case Festival.
“Sir Vantes. Donkey Hot.” 2007 “Golden Mask” nominee for “Best Theatrical Experiment/Show-Innovation.”
In October, our show “Sir Vantes. Donkey Hot,” which will close the Golden Mask Festival in Latvia, turns 10 years old!
