Show for Children
Everyone knows that Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol received the idea for his poem “Dead Souls” as a gift from Alexandr Sergeevich Pushkin. Our show is dedicated to this unusual event, very rarely encountered in the writing world. Rare not just in the “regular” writing world, where, as our narrator says, writers more often steal ideas, apartments, and even wives from each other; but rare even in the life of such an exceptionally big-hearted person as Alexandr Sergeevich.
Somehow we don’t know of any other instances when he gifted someone even the smallest idea (well, except for “The Government Inspector” – to the very same Gogol). And here, nevertheless, we have “Dead Souls”… How strange!
And that’s what the show is about.
